Need wifi connexion to play Old-school nintendo wii games?
Posted on Feb 14, 2012 under Old School Nintendo | 2 CommentsSo, I know I’ll need wifi connexion to purchase these old-school games from nintendo. But, will I need a wifi connexion to play them, after purchase ? I don’t have wifi at home, but I can ask a friend, who has wifi, to purchase games on my wii device for me.
Okay first off we’ve got a few terms crisscrossed. the "Wi-Fi Connection" is what Nintendo uses to allow us to play certain games with other players. What you need in order to download the retro games, other than the Wii, Wii Shop Channel, and Wii Points, is an internet connection. Some of the games on the Shop Channel can be played alone or on the Wi-Fi Connection. However, the retro games only require an internet connection to download it/them and then you’re free to play them with or without the internet.

You do not need Wi-Fi to play the games, it is only required to download them from the wii shop channel.
If you have wired internet at home you could use a LAN Ethernet Adaptor they are $15 from this company (located in Hong Kong so shipping takes 2 weeks)
