Positive Youth Development (PYD)

Working with young people requires a paradigm shift from viewing young people as future citizens to viewing young people as today’s citizens, with the capacity to effect change when given adequate supports and opportunities… It requires a breakdown of stereotypes that both adults and young people have about each other. The breakdown of stereotypes can occur through positive interactions encountered as adults and young people work together as a team to achieve goals.
