Love 8-bit Nintendo games but not necessarily 8-bit musical instruments? Wish you could hear the soundtracks of those games rendered by live musicians as you play?
Eight Bits of Jam will come into your living room and provide real-time acoustic soundtracks to old school games such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Mike Tyson’s Punch-out, and many more. All you have to do is put the television on ‘mute’ and Eight Bits of Jam will take care of the rest.
Join Scott Bradlee and Ben Golder-Novick on a Nintendo Jazz Odyssey. The only limit is your imagination…and the occasional dusty cartridge.

http://www.PatrickScottPatterson.com – Reports today are stating that Nintendo Power Magazine is shutting down after 24 years.
I fondly remember the eager anticipation for each issue back in the day, reading and re-reading them and re-reading them again. I was a loyal subscriber, never missing an issue, for the first four years of the publication and have checked out nearly every issue at newsstands since.
Here is a little compilation to pay tribute to the early days. Searching the archives I could only find a couple of commercials so I also added a TV newsmagazine feature on Howard Phillips, a man that I know any old school Nintendo Power fans will remember well.
Enjoy. Post your memories of Nintendo Power below.
